Had a lovely (impromptu ) day with Mr R and Maria..After Church.... We came home to a lovely breakfast thanks to Mr R. ( He is so good to us! )
I had just settled into my "Bum" pants..
No not the kind the cute young girls wear... with the word BUM written on their Bum...You know the pants you wear when you are just gonna be hanging around the house.. all comfy letting it all hang out so to speak... The old lady version.
Now keep in mind... I had my "BUM" pants on. I was really really ready to Lounge .. like a lizard, when Maria asked me if I wanted to go with her to Borders.
(there are you happy Gra?) suddenly I remembered one of the movies Mr R and I had seen over his holiday break...
Yes Man.. with Jim Carrey... It was a good movie and actually had some profound insights. One being, opening your self up to new things ... Not getting caught in a rut... letting life pass you by just because you aren't willing to try something new, how all kinds of interesting things would begin to happen to you......Just by saying YES!
So I made the ultimate sacrifice and changed into my presentable BUM pants... and agreed to go with Maria to the book store...
We went a step further and asked Mr R if he wanted to come along... and lo and behold HE said
YES !
It was no stopping us from there... next thing you know after our stint at Boarders... we were off to see Frost/Nixon.. another great movie... one I probably would not have seen, had I not been open to saying....
YES !
The movie got out around 6:20.....This lead to Mr R saying... Well it's kinda late how about going out for dinner?
YES !
( Always a plus in my book )
and finally... after an enjoyable dinner with the dynamic duo.... back to my original idea...
BUM pants...
YES !
There really may something to this saying Yes thing... I know it worked out for me today....
now I plan on settling in and getting my book club book read...( Thanks Stella for letting me borrow it) ...
My point in this post... ( And I do have one ) is....
I was fortunate enough to do some really fun things with friends & family, over this break... as well as see some good movies...
I whole heartily recommend each ... although they are all very different.
Seven Pounds: Great Drama.
Benjamin Buttons: Great Fiction
Yes Man: Great Comedy
Frost/Nixon: Great Drama of real events.
Slum Dog Millionaire: GREAT independent Film... ( Being an independent this one may not get alot of press.. but truly worth seeing... JMO)
All this fun and festivity... because I was willing to SAY YES !!!!
