Yesterday....
I had a nice day with my son, We ate really good Thai food for lunch.
( Something he hasn't found yet where he lives) ... He treated!
( Something he hasn't found yet where he lives) ... He treated! From there we went to our local computer place and bought webcam(s).
Now THIS should be interesting..
Now THIS should be interesting.. We have had a mic for a while and have been able to talk to Mr R's sister over in England but man.... Now I've got to try to look decent while talking online !!! TALL order ...
Afterwards we went over to the book store..
Dinner wasn't anything special.. in general the day wasn't anything special.. except for one thing...I am so happy to have him here...it is BECAUSE.. of it's ordinariness that I am so happy and grateful. I get it that it's only temporary... but I am trying to enjoy every minute that I can.
After dinner... by some miracle on high.. the television was not turned on.. and the three of us Mr R .. M2 and myself sat down with our coffee ( yes my son.. the one who just yesterday went off to kindergarten drinks coffee) .. and had some great discussions..
All kinds of topics came up ... very big.. and some mundane...
I thanked him for setting up the web cam and taking out the trash.. He thanked us for being good parents...
Yep.. You can guess how that made us feel!

He expressed his appreciation for his dad's hard work... and how difficult it must have been to go to school finish his education all while raising a young family...

He thanked me for having raised him to be a polite, hard working, genuinely good person, who appreciates the meaning of family.
Now for a gal who hasn't had much formal education, who stayed home the entire time with her kids... ( At a time when women in the workforce was almost a given)... who second guessed herself alot about whether or not she was doing the right things...
To hear your kid say Thanks you did a good job... means more then I can effectively say.
( I needed a drink after that !!! )So to Mr R I say... I guess we done good......

Yes... I would say it was a very good day...
