Christmas Tour... Part II

Welcome to the Christmas Tour... Part II.

Let's start our little tour with a better look at the Christmas Tree... and whats on it...

Shall we?...Starting at the top.... Our lovely little Angel... ( I always feel a little bad putting her up there.. what with where the top of the tree has to go...

Ahemmm....

Ok.. anyway.. on to what is ON the tree...

My first born Sweetie...

My gosh... these guys have all grown so much since this photos where taken...

Then we have those who are physically not with anymore...

The Nativity... This set is just beautiful and has many many ... many pieces.. Camels.. Lambs..Wise men and Jackasses.. ( Literally not figuratively)... My mother in law had her sister make it for us when we were first married and... I just LOVE LOVE LOVE it..

As the years have gone by though... I find that I began to put less of the giant menagerie out...

So now ...It's down to Joseph.. Mary... A cow.. and a lamb..

( Jesus of course makes his appearance Christmas Morning)
Sometimes Less ... is more.

We have a lovely two way Fireplace...

And Yes... even the Bathroom gets a little Holly Jolly... why not??
These guys are relatively new..

The story behind them is....

While out shopping with a friend.. they instantly caught my eye..

At first because they were exactly "My Colors" Cranberry and Sage Green...

I picked them up.... walked around with them for a bit..

bonded..

then put them back... after all.. Did I REALLY need another Snowperson in my life???

My friend and I walked out of the store.. and while I was a bit bummed out... I let it go.

About a week later.. I was talking to the same friend.. and the subject of the snowmen came up.. and I said.. Yeah..

"I probably should have gotten them... Did you notice that it was an unusual combination?"... she said..

"What do you mean? "

I said.. well ..

"You often see sets with Two adults and two children.. Snow people...or Two adults and three children and so on... but this one had.. THREE adults and two children... One male adult.. Two female adults.. and two children.. Kinda like our family... Mr R.. Me... Mamma... and the kids.."

Her eyes got as big as saucers... and she shouted...

"Oh My Gosh !!!!! ... You HAVE to go back and get them.. I mean what are the chances of that... Let' s go !!! "

of course... they were no where to be found....

Now I mourned them even more.. How dumb... I knew in my gut I should have bought them when I saw them.. Ugh.!!!!

We gave up.

About a week later.. I popped into that same store for some last minute things.. and almost like a beacon shining out to me... There they were... mixed in with some Stuffed Moose

( Meese ?)

I almost wept... I just KNEW they were meant to come home with me.. and they did.

So.... there you have it.. a very long probably unnecessary story about this snow family...

But.....I don't care... I think it's sweet...

Ok.. moving right along here...

This is where I keep the Christmas cards we receive... such a nice system .. much better then the Card holder system I showed you in Christmas Tour Part I...

I guess while I am handing out unnecessary stories.. I will tell you that this item has one too..

I bought the sleigh quite a while back... and used it as I said for my cards... I had always thought.. wouldn't it be nice to have a Santa to go with it.. You know.. just to make it look more... Official..

Santa....his sleigh... Yada Yada Yada... but I could never find one that was the right proportion... Some Santa's were just too teeny tiny next to the sleigh... and some looked like King Kong meets the North Pole...

Then last year... my Dear Friend Gra.. handed me a lovely gift.. and inside was this Santa... Ummm.. Hellloooo.. can you say "Made for each other" .... I love it. Well I think I have filled your heads with enough sugar plums for one sitting...

I think I will go through and look at all the lovelies again.......

You might venture to say I am feeling a little sentimental... I think I'll start with all the pictures of my kids when they were little... and tranquilize myself later...
