A Simply Good Night....

Baby it's COLD outside....
and I am not exaggerating... Last night Mr R and our Good friend John surprised us wimmins with a wonderful treat!!!
These little pot lickers .... ( No Pun intended)( I never thought I'd use THAT term on my blog!!).. Planned an evening out at SIMPLY GOOD KITCHEN....

This Wonderful place is owned and operated by Bill and Shanny Apodaca... Professional Chefs who host cooking Classes.!!!!

Coming in from the frozen tundra... we were greeted at the door with a profound statement.

I couldn't agree more.. ...Mr Gandhi.....Namaste

If you're not careful you could be facing some Whoop Ass.... Hot Sauce that is..

Our friends John and Susan ... caught intensely checking out all the wonderful food
In the freezer's we found a huge assortment of appetizing gourmet food made by Bill and Shanny...... This was just the soups !!!
But there was a wide array of yummy looking things to eat
As well as just about every kind of cooking utensil you can imagine... and some you could not.... This is Kathy... John and Susan's Friend ... she works at Simply Good...How she doesn't weigh 700 lbs is beyond me..... Here's what the class area looked like...The woodblock table tops were carved with all sorts of culinary paraphernalia
and .....Witty little messages up on the chalkboards.... I just knew I was going to have a good time. This people have a sense of humor.... AND.... they cook !! I think we just met some new best friends....

They have a book out ya know.... As more and more people came in from the cold... Our class was about to begin...Susan.. was NOT messing around.. she was ready to get down to business...

Food TV's chef Bobby Flay surprised us all by being there...If he's Bobby Flay... That must make me Giada... ( In my dreams!!!!!.... and his )
These two little love kittens were all over each other like White on rice... Get it.. it's a cooking class... white on rice... never mind....

Class got started..and first on the menu was... Cabbage Soup...

But not just any cabbage soup... THIS one... came down straight from heaven...

I am not even kidding .. I think the secret weapon was the bloody Mary mix... To die for.

Together with a hot roll out of the oven... just the ticket

Next Bill brought out the Big Kahuna... The Brisket!!

Not only did we learn about the various cooking methods.. we also learned the difference of the cuts ... as well as cutting methods.. Bill was a nice enough guy... except he would come around showing us his craft.. and wafting the delicious fumes from the progressing meal...kinda mean if you ask me... : )

Than if that weren't bad enough... we got tag teamed by his wife Shanny... Who explained the making of a wonderful noodle Kugel...

Questions came up about substituting low fat options in this recipe... Her responses in regards to butter and cream cheese made me realize I was looking at a kindred spirit.

Here my KS ( Kindred Spirit) is plating up the meal...

Roasted Autumn vegetables (Perfectly roasted )

Noodle Kugel ( Savory yet Sweet)and

MELT in your mouth Brisket...

I almost wept....

Seriously... I didn't want the party in my mouth to end
Yet... it did...
Just as I thought my Mind.. Heart and Taste buds couldn't stand it another minute.... Shanny began to demonstrate ..... Dessert...

The most glorious piece of Heaven.... Sour Cream Apple Coffee Cake...
BAM !!!!!!!

The only thing that could have made it better.... would have been a nice cup of coffee....Of course I didn't let something so trivial stop me from polishing off this little gastronomic masterpiece...

Bill and Shanny... I love you... No really... I LOVE YOU !!!!!

Adopt me please !!!!

It was all ........SIMPLY GOOD !!!!!!
