Happy Halloweenie !!!

Happy Halloween !!!!! Ya gotta love a holiday where little kids are encouraged to walk around in weird sometimes scary costumes.....

and basically "Beg" for candy... ( I think it's all part of early hands on training for governmental hand outs.. but it only a theory)

I'm not hating... I really do love the little buggers when they come to the door.. especially the tiny ones who are just figuring this whole process out... One year.. a wee tiny little Fairy Princess ...Came to our door.. I have to think we were her first stop.. Because after I gushed over her BEAUTIFUL costume.. and how scary her brother looked... she mimicked her older brother and managed the cutest Twick o Tweet I ever heard...

I placed the treats into her tiny plastic pumpkin ... her eyes got as big as saucers ..and she squealed... CANDY !!!!... all the adults busted out laughing.. it was so cute.. Her brother just scowled at her with a disgusted look like... Duh... That's how it works.!!

I have thought about dressing up to pass candy out... but Mr R and I's attempt at Halloween/ Educational Human Anatomy Customs ...just didn't go over very well..Maybe I can convince Mr R to dress up in his normal PRIVATE weekend gear?

Mike and Maria were invited to a party that sounded fun...Unfortunately..... I think I am getting to old and worn out for THAT much excitement....

Here I am showing you( and by you I specifically mean my girls from RENEW/GIFT)... the paper plates and napkins I was planning to use last Friday..

Due to circumstances beyond my control.. I had to cancel.. bummer.. They are nice though...NO?....

( Ya gotta love the Dollar Store... Yep nothing but the best for MY friends...)Here we have the fake fall leaves and acorn coffee table center piece.. I am sure cutie pie...NATE .. would NOT approve.. but hey... like I said..You do what you can on a budget.

The decorations.. and stupid puns are not the ONLY scary things going on around here.. Menopausal Insomnia is pretty darn frightening too..

It's Fall in Michigan !!!!!

Fall is defiantly here... It really is one of my most favorite times of the year..Yes.. some days can be a little gloomy.. but for the most part the colors are spectacular!

Thought I would share with you just a few shots ...

All of this is from a very small strip of road...

I didn't get down to Hines Park this year...

It is known for having some of the most beautiful colors.(Now it's too late) .. but Mr R did.. and said it was an unbelievable sight. You gotta love a State that has all four seasons...

On my way to the mailbox the other day I looked around at all the trees most almost bare..the plants getting ready for the long winter .. either fading or gone all together ... and that's when I saw it.... A lone clematis flower hanging on for dear life.

In spite of some really cold nights .. this plucky like flower is still in bloom..

Maybe it's a metaphor for life?

You know...

We bloom..

We grow..

and sometimes even when things get rough... We really can just hang on for a bit longer..or

maybe it's just dumb luck..either way it was cool to see.

With Halloween only three days away.. I put up our scarecrow(s) and other Halloween/Fall Decorations...

I think we have another metaphor here....Which is.....Even people that have something stuck up their butt.... Can sometimes greet you with a smile..

As of..October 24th

That's how many years Mr R and I have been married !!! and ...(we dated six years in high school!!!!) I mean.. THAT ... is a long time to be with a person... and yet.. somehow it only gets better.

I find that while all the things that bugged me about him have( Some what ) diminished..

All the things I love about him have intensified.

As I get older and hopefully a little wiser... I can appreciate even more now how lucky I am to have him as my life partner... The person who has stood by my side through it all...

All little girls are kind of Disneytized into the whole Princess waiting for her Prince thing...

and while I am not going to say that there isn't a WHOLE LOT of bad... terrible... awful... painful.... gut wrenching things that we will all experience throughout our lives...

I feel like some how...my own fairy godmother was looking out for me ... and hooked me up with a prince of a guy who has helped weather those times.... and ... Shared some of the most wonderful.... magnificent..... breath taking...... awe inspiring events that life has to offer...

Last week sometime.. My sister Lina was in town to have lunch with some of her old neighbors.. and she pleasantly surprised us by stopping by the house first..

It was early.. and I looked a wreck.. ( There is no photo evidence of this here thank goodness) .. Mamma was still getting ready as well..Lina waited and admired our new Mum plant. Then suddenly........SURPRISE !!!


Wow.. someone didn't quite finish combing the back of their hair...No matter.. her baby was here and that is all that countsAren't they cute?... and SO SO much alike.. ( In all the good ways )

Ummm... let's try a happy face shall we?Much Better...

I made some coffee and put out some goodies.. and we just chit chatted about this and that...

It's always fun when someone pops in at the spur of the moment..

I can prove that this was spur of the moment and that Mamma didn't expect anyone...That's right...
Just kicking back ... In her slip... In a state of parietal undress....

It didn't matter.. It was just us girls anyway...We were all happy to see Lina... even if the visits are always too short....

On a side note.. I have to tell you a funny.... after we said our good byes. Mamma pointed out
