Back on the Wedding Train.....

People People People...
How are we all doing?... I for one am dancing as fast as I can..

Maria.. Her Maid of Honor and I.... set out early Saturday to try and knock out some of the wedding related items still on her list...

Not only because they needed to get done.. but also in an effort to avoid me having a full blown heart attack..
You see alot of the main to do's had been set early... the major important things one has to do in preparing for a wedding.. somehow with these "Major Things" out of the way.. all the other "Important" but not right this minute stuff kind of got lost in a false sense of we still have alot of time feeling.

Then came the holidays... and lord knows none of us were thinking Wedding ... So once we woke up from our holiday induced trance... we both realized that Umm hello...

133 DAYS left till the wedding !!!!!

My gosh just writing that gave me a jolt...UGH.

So we are getting on the stick.. so to speak.. and yesterday we set out to Get'er Done... well as much as we could...
In my opinion we "Done Good"

First on our list was picking up the MOH and heading to the other side of creation... our destination ... meet with someone that does chair covers..unfortunately it was a 58 min drive !!!
As a "Westsider"... any foray into the "East side" may as well be China.. I get totally discombobulated and disoriented as to where I am...
I normally have a pretty good sense of direction....but there is something about the east side that leaves me clueless even about North South East West.
Thanks to Mapquest and a nice lady at Potbelly's we were able to find our location.

It was well worth the trip.. considering the amount of green we were able to save.
One down... tons to go...

Next came picking up the MOH's Dress... this was a bit emo for all..You see these two ding dongs have known each other a long time..and have been partners in crime forever..
Seeing her all dressed up...... as opposed to say a grimy softball uniform put lumps in everyone 's throat... and it only got worse once the her other gal pal came in to do the same...

This one has been around even longer...literally childhood friends... I think it was all becoming real for everyone..sniff.. All this emo... did NOT detract us from getting another thing checked off the list..

On to the tuxes !!!!!

Renting the tuxes from the place right next door to the bridal shop got us a great deal as well as Maria having a coupon for $10 off each rental ... Groom free !!!
(Yes ... she IS her mother's daughter)

Putting that ensemble together was just as fun as the girls dresses... these guys are going to look great!!

We may have found the invitations as well !!

Bakery was next... we were so exhausted at this point ... a little sugar rush would be just the ticket...

The only snag being... the gal we were to meet.......
forgot about us coming ...
This of course did not stop us from picking up a thing or two.
OH DARN... we have to go back and try more sweets...lol ...

Reschedule....

It has been quite a long day.. but lots got done...

The sugar buzz really did the trick... because once we got home... we ordered the wedding favors.. (This was MAJOR).
One of the main items giving me angina.

There are still a lot of last minute things on the list... most can be accomplished in reasonable time... I am just glad things seem to be back on track..

Oh.. did I mention my Son is getting married three months later????

Alrighty then...

In NON wedding related news.. I have to tell you.. that same morning I woke up from the most UNBELIEVABLE most Life like dream about my dad...It is far far too personal and emotional for me to write about..but I will say this...I am more certain than ever that.....

No one ever really dies..
You can not destroy energy.
They ARE with us always.
It left me with that odd feeling of being both happy yet sad...If that makes any sense at all??Kind of like this whole Kids getting married thing.. Happy yet Sad.
OH Life..
How you play with us!!!

P.S.
I want to wish my baby sister a HAPPY 42nd BIRTHDAY !!!!
That's some "Baby"
Love Ya !!!

WOW....I was breathless just reading all that you and Maria got done. You truly are an amazing woman and Maria, well you know how I feel about her, love, love, love her!!!!

How exciting....the wedding is going to be absolutely beautiful and I can't wait to see all the pictures and hear all the stories. I am so sad that I will be so far away on that special day....Life just isn't fair (as I sit with a big ole pout on my face)

Anyways, hope to catch you online this week. Nothing happening here but snow, icy walks and chilly temps!!!!!

How quick your children grow....I too was exhausted after reading all you did yesterday, but what a truly special day it was, able to spend time with your daughter and her friends. And I get what you mean about dreaming of you Dad, it just goes to show you that he is truly with you during this special time in his family's life. Peace

Sounds like you are getting a lot done! Excellent!

Have to tell you.. I had a surreal dream about Mom the other night! You & I seem to really run parallel in that arena! Mine was quite emotional as well. We will talk more about that later... :)
