Wedding .... Part I

* Disclaimer....
FIRST :
I am still trying to recover from this momentous event.. so I will have to post in bits and pieces..
Second:
I am trying to piece things together using other peoples snapshots.. Once the photographer's pictures become available I will try to post those as well..
Until then you'll get the general picture..
Wow.. this wedding stuff takes alot outta ya...
Contrary to my friend Lori's advise
I did not hang a rosary from a bush or tree ( As a petition to Mother Mary for nice weather....
for all you Non Catholics out there...)
Therefor...The day started out soggy...
The last time I tried one of these pull a miracle outta my hat catholic things was when we were moving..and I became so desperate to sell our house I buried a statue of St Joseph in our front yard. ( Supposedly it gets the job done faster)...
Nothing
than someone told me it has to be buried in the back yard..
Nothing..
Than I heard it has to be upside down.
Nothing..
I looked like a loon burying and reburying this little icon all over the yard..

In the end I think I only ticked Jesus' earthy father off... since it took six months to sell the house and only than I think it finally sold because it was December and getting close to J.C's birthday.
Well.... all that and the fact that we were all about to enter one of the worst financial times this country has ever seen.. Thank goodness it sold when it did.

But I digress..
back to the wedding day...

What started out as just drizzled worked it's way into a full blown rain... however by the time the party bus got to the house.. the sun was shining.. Maria's Day turned out wonderful on so many levels..
The bridesmaids arrived at the house around seven a.m. on route to get their hair done by Nancy and her friend. Although most where a bit bleary eyed.. the bagels.. fruit tray and mimosa's soon woke the gaggle up...
Once they were fully awake..... excitement was in the air... and it was palpable.
One by one each of us took our turn at getting beauteous.
Nancy had her friend "Lovey" come to help and what a fun girl she was.. as well as Maria ( another Maria) for Make Up. she too was a hoot. Originally I was not going to get my make up done.. but .. I thought... I will just get the lashes..Next thing you know I am in FULL ON make up..
I felt so pampered.
I would have stayed longer but the entire day was ahead of us.. so I left the brood of women and started what would be the day I will never forget. Here is the only Picture I have after the Glamo Rama....EVERY loop had to be threaded !!!
First stop was a local speciality Market to pick up 15467 mini crescent sandwiches, for the people making a layover at my house after the ceremony (but before the reception.)
I had them coming from all over...16 family members from Canada alone ...some from Northern Michigan and Illinois. It was a house full but wonderful.. Food and Beverages where EVERYWHERE. it was like a little mini reception before the reception

She looked beautifulThe wait prior that was ridiculous. Not because it was bad..but it seemed like forever ..Maria was getting a little over heated. As folks would pop in they would find her surrounded by her harem.. fanning and occupying her during the wait time.
Finally the word came..
it was time to walk in...
To Be continued....

Well, thank goodness you have started telling us about the wedding. I have been checking everyday for some sign that you have recovered a little bit! Now can't wait for Installment #2. Maria looked beautiful! And her wedding gown was gorgeous. Your houseful of relatives looked so warm and inviting. You are a lucky woman, Marcy

P.S.- did you really bury St. Joseph that many times all over your yard?
