OH NO... I AM THE BIG FIVE OH!!!!

Yesterday was a day that will live on in infamy...

Yes....The rumors are true..

I turned the big.... 5....0.... Ugh.. !!!

How can this be when inside I feel ( and some say Act )more like 15 !?

And yet the fact remains I have wandered this good green earth for 50 years !
And to think it almost didn't happen!

Yes you could say I was hanging on to life ( literally & figuratively) by a thread.

For my sake...I am glad I made it.. so far it's been a great ride.

In all the confusion and excitement of the wedding(s) I asked that there not be too big of a fuss made about this birthdayYet Mr R.. being the kind of guy he is.. did the one thing I never in a million years thought he would do..

( I didn't even have time to blog about this !)
A couple of weeks ago he gave me my Dream Machine.. No not a Porsche.. even better!

My very first DSLR Camera.. a Nikon D40 !!!!!

Ironically I had to use my good ole Nikon Cool Pix to take a picture of my new Nikon Mac Daddy...

Well in reality if you are a photography buff I know that you know....... that in the world of Photography this model is considered more for beginners..

Well thank you very much.. Because

that is exactly what I am.. I don't know an aperture....from an ISO...

BUT.. did you also know that this model is also considered one of the best standard cameras? Rated even higher than some of the fancy dancy models..

In the mean time...

I am a bit overwhelmed with all the gizmo's and gadgets on this thing so I simply keep it in AUTO all the time.. at least until I get the hang of it all..

Suffice to say.....I absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE this camera... UGH.. did I mention I LOVE IT?...

With the weddings and all.....

I thought maybe it would be better to get it next year for my Birthday or even Christmas.. ( This things SNOT cheap !) but he found a way to put aside some extra cash..

(The Dr says after selling all that blood... Enough time has past and his blood count should be back to normal soon )...

Mike and Maria gave me the fancy schmancy bag to go with it
Cue music... Heaven... I'm in heaven !

My Son and future daughter in law gave me a generous gift card.. (Niiiiccce ) and one of the most original .. funniest gifts ever.. ( I am waiting for pictures to blog about it..)

We are planning to meet up for our usual Family Birthday Brunch.. on Sunday..

In the mean time I wanted to share with you another cool event that took place this week...

I received a wonderful gift for Mother's Day from Mike and Maria... that I had not yet redeemed...

A message at the Fabulous....OM SPA In Dearborn..

The logic was that I was going to really need some pampering after the wedding ...

PEOPLE can I just say I think I momentarily left my body..

So glorious.. So spectacular.. So Surreal...

I liked it...

Everywhere you looked there was beautiful things.. and serenity
The waiting area was a virtual den of calmnessSoothing music and gentle lighting puts one in the mood for what is to come..Oh.. and food !!!!! Lovely teas.. and healthy type foods..and frankly some not so healthy.. but so darn yummy!In the changing room.. there were a plethora of high end products at your disposal...I had to take this picture to prove to my self I was really there.. that it really happened..I felt so decadent and spoiled..... almost like Paris Hilton ..

without all the slutty behavior..

Can you understand now why I keep saying I am so tired?...

All this Love is hard work !
