I know I'm in here... I can hear my breathing...

Needless to say.... I have been very absent around these here parts.
We are just now starting to get things in order...
and by just starting I mean JUST starting.

Taking down the wallpaper in two of the rooms( The Two largest ) turned out to be a
nightmare !
The guys working on it ended up having to sand the walls !!!
Sealing off the areas in plastic
( It looked like the scene from ET when the government officials came in for the little guy)

In total 7 rooms had to be painted 2 requiring wallpaper removal.
Alas...
It proved to be too much to do in one sitting.. and the guys have to come back in August
to finish 3 more rooms!
Luckily we did a sample test and it looks like those rooms had been sized properly... the paper came off with no hitches.
Do you know what a house looks like when trying make home improvements in 7 rooms?
AT THE SAME TIME?
WELL... DO YOU?
IT AIN'T PRETTY!
Sorry..I still have a bit of a twitch over this...
The only thing that is keeping me sane.. is how nice the finished rooms look... and knowing I will NEVER have to go through this again with wallpaper..
ugh
In the mean time I have tried to keep smiling put on my happy face and keep moving..
what else can I do?
Through this process....
I found out that stress really brings out my
potty mouth

I say it's a stress reliever..
Mamma says I need my mouth washed out with holy water.
Meh..
Well I am off to clean yet another closet..
I WILL get this house in order.. even if it kills me..
and it just might..

So.. As much as I'd really love to stay and chat.. I " Must Dash"

P.S.
Thank You crappy refrigerator for breaking down on us...in the middle of all this.
So convenient of you.
UGH !

Nanny Dog... and the happenings..

We are still pretty jumbled up around here ... and in the middle of all that is happening...
My Sister in law and Fiance are home (From England ) for a couple of weeks.

So of course we had to do a little entertaining...Which thankfully provided a much needed break from the chaos we find ourselves in...

Easter Market ( * Yes again )
Golf for the guys.. Plymouth's Art in the Park for the gals..
and today swimming at Mike and Maria's and BBQ.
Not too shabby...
Hopefully Tomorrow alot of the painting will be complete...( Thank You Sweet Jesus ! )

Once I can get my house in order.. literally and figuratively.. I should feel alot better.
I also hope to post some of the highlights of the visit soon..

In the mean time I had to share this heart warming video ...

I could not believe my eyes ( and ears )
This was so touching.

Please Pardon Our Dust !!!!

Sooo… How arya?

It’s been been a bit since I touched base… but I can assure you.. I haven’t been sittin on my hands..

No Sireee Bob.

Right now we are smack dab in the middle of a mind altering project..

Stripping off wallpaper. (circa 1980)

It is by far one of the worst things I have had to endure in quite awhile.. * And I am not even doing the work!

I would have killed myself and taken someone with a long time ago if I had tried this one.

However… even standing by on the sidelines is proving to be very jarring on the nerves !

We bit the proverbial bullet and decided to let someone who knows what the heck they are doing … have at it.

Along with the wallpaper take down.. is a paint put up..Irving_Penn_House_Painter_London_1950

Not only are we having those rooms that once had wall paper painted..

We are also sprucing up some of the other rooms that need it as well …

This whole thing is turning into so much more than we/I bargained for…UGH..

But The way I look at .. This situation is no different that Childbirth…

On the one had you are very excited about everything that is going to happen..

But you are also scared because you know it’s gonna hurt like hell.

birth

On that note all I can say is…..*OUCH !

In the mean time we have been keeping busy with some other fun stuff as well..

This is what the sky looked like on the morning Mr R and I decided to go to Eastern Market..

It was kind of cool…

*Yes that is the sun..

We were so busy buying up the place … I didn’t get too many pictures in..

However..

This guy was jamming…DSC_1343

and was kind enough to let me take his picture.DSC_1346

The next day…

We took time out to celebrate Pete’s Birthday…DSC_1360

Look at how his wife lovelying looks upon him..

Oh wait.. I think she was just trying to make eye contact with the waiter to her order in.DSC_1382

It’s always nice when the cousins get together…DSC_1375

SOMEONE… is so ready for cake!

Someone else is just ready for a shave.

Next fun thing on the list…was a trip to DSC_1442

the DFT ( Detroit Film Theatre )

Maria and I went to see a documentary called

*Bill Cunningham NEW YORK

Bill Cunningham is a 82 year old New York photojournalist who for decades has taken“Street” shots of New Yorkers and the fashion trends they inspire.

Bill the person.. however is what makes this movie special.. He is so inspiring.

Such a good movie!

While at this beautiful theatre we decided to get a few shots of the interior..

Today’s Movie Theatres can’t hold a candle to places like this

That is fo sho…

I mean…even the drinking fountain is a work of art !

The afternoon was filled with ART… InsideDSC_1432 and

Out !DSC_1444

DSC_1447

DSC_1450While we could have wandered around Downtown … and taken some pretty good pics..

We decided to head over to Royal Oak…

and the

Shrine Of The Little Flower

DSC_1494

While the Shrine IS beautiful

DSC_1493DSC_1500

My personal favorite is the much much smaller chapel next to the shrine..

About the size of a small garage.

DSC_1486

I was told that because… the Eucurisht is always on display.. the Chapel is manned 24 hours a day.

I will have to look into that…

Once inside there are maybe a dozen old fashion benches with kneelers .. many religious statues and icons and perhaps most important.. Peace and Quiet… in the truest sense of the words.

DSC_1482

Just outside the doors.. You will find Jesus.

Well a statue of Jesus at a table..DSC_1484

This does not stop folks from stopping by for a visit.

DSC_1516

Deciding to go there was a great decision.. not only for the Photography..DSC_1481DSC_1527

But for the few peaceful moments spent ..

just wrappin with the Big Guy.

DSC_1476

St Theresa would have been proud.

DSC_1524

Last but certainly not least…

Was our Fourth of July invite to Mike and Maria’s..

While some of the gang hung out by the neighborhood poolDSC_1530DSC_1538

Others of us met up later at their house for BBQ

DSC_1540DSC_1551

Hot Dogs wrapped in Bacon.. why?. because you can..

DSC_1549

Everyone had a great time..

DSC_1550DSC_1537DSC_1539

But the time did finally come to say Thank You and…

Peace Out !!DSC_1555SO …
That is what's been going on around here…

Phew !!!
